Garden Grove is a city located in northern Orange County, and known for it’s cultural emphasis and attractions. Garden Grove is home to three stage theaters, the Garden Grove Playhouse, Gem Theater and the Festival Amphitheater. The Amphitheater hosts Shakespeare Orange County, which presents an annual Shakespeare Festival each summer. All venues are owned by the City of Garden Grove, but privately operated.
The city is also home to the Crystal Cathedral, the largest employer in Garden Grove. An architectural landmark, the breathtaking structure was designed by prominent architect Philip Johnson, and is constructed of over 10,000 rectangular panes of glass glued to it using a silicone-based glue. This and other measures are intended to allow the building to withstand an earthquake of magnitude 8.0.
The city has innovative programs for companies wishing to relocate into, remain, or expand, including financial assistance. In addition to its' business friendly environment, Garden Grove is strategically located adjacent to six major freeways providing easy access to markets, government centers, tourist and recreation centers, and other cities in California. With the City's close proximity to major universities, community colleges, and technical schools, there is a substantial supply of well-trained professional and technical employees.
Some of the other major employers in the city include Garden Grove Hospital/Medical Center, Air Industries Corp., Leiner Halth Products LLCm Regency, Aircraft Interior Systems, Saint Gobain Performancem OfficeMax Inc.m GKN Aerospace, and C&D Zodiac.
